Non members

Online
You can become a member of Westport Credit Union easily online. Once you’ve become a member, you can apply to open your Current Account with us.
In Branch

If you’re not a member of Westport credit union yet, you can join by opening a share (savings) account then go ahead and apply to open your Current Account. This will just take a few minutes and can be done together on the same day.

Step 2 - Complete the Switcher Form

Download Switcher Form, fill it out and confirm the date you want your account to be switched.
Pick your start date and allow a minimum of 3 working days for your old bank to receive the information.
Choose a switch date for a quiet time, when there is little activity on your account.

Step 3 - Notifying new Current Account details to people/businesses who lodge to your account

Ensure payments are lodged correctly into your account. Let your employer know your new Current Account details so your salary can be paid in.
Re-direct any other regular payments (child benefit, pension etc.) into your new Current Account.

Step 4 - Ensure the bills are paid on time

Check the list of direct debits / standing orders that your old bank will send you. If you need to change or cancel any direct debits you must contact your provider directly.
