Rules, Terms & Conditions
Image Specifications
– Images must be in JPG format
– Images should be 100% quality
The promoter is Westport Credit Union, North Mall, Westport, Co. Mayo
Closing date of Westport Credit Union amateur photo competition is Friday, November 4th 2016 at 5.00pm, all entries received after this date and time will not be entered.
Employees of Westport Credit Union, their families or other persons connected with this promotion are not eligible to enter.
The competition is open to amateur photographers only. An amateur is a photographer who makes less than 15% of their annual income, or less than €5,000, from the practice of photography.
Entry is restricted to people aged within each category only.
The same image must NOT be entered in more than one Section – This includes altered and unaltered images.
All entries must include a valid/contactable email address.
All entries must be made by posting them to Westport Credit Union, North Mall, Westport, Co. Mayo or by dropping entries into Westport, Newport or Louisburgh branches.
The Judges’ decision is final and binding in all matters and no correspondence will be entered into.
The promoter is excluded from liability for any loss, damage or injury which might occur to the winner arising from his or her taking part.
By entering the promotion and submitting your photograph, you hereby grant Westport Credit Union a license to use your photograph for the purpose of delivering the service and promoting the competition within any newspaper and online in printed and electronic formats. Westport Credit Union may also use the photograph for the promotion of any photographic competition with Westport Credit Union in both print and online.
All imagery MUST be the total and exclusive work of the submitting photographer and may not include any element that is the copyright of another.
The entrant will indemnify the Promoter for all liabilities, including legal costs, in relation to any action or complaint taken by any third party against the Promoter in relation to the entrant’s photograph.
Photographers may make reasonable use of digital darkroom type techniques which enhance quality but do not distort the photograph. Only minor burning, dodging and/or colour correction is acceptable, as is cropping. High dynamic range images (HDR) and stitched panoramas are NOT acceptable.
Entry to the photo competition shall be deemed full and unconditional acceptance of the terms & conditions.
Westport Credit Union reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions.
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of Ireland and subject to the jurisdiction of the Irish Courts.
When a photograph is submitted and entry finalised the entry cannot be changed or edited.
All entries cannot be returned; backup copies should be made if entrants wish to keep a copy of their entry.
All winners/parents & guardians of winners will be contacted by phone once judging has been completed.
By entering the competition, you consent to Westport Credit Union using your image for Westport Credit Union marketing purposes and consent to having your image printed on company calendars for use by Westport Credit Union members, their families and the general public.
Overall competition winner will have their photograph printed on the front cover of the Westport Credit Union 2017 Calendar, all category winner photographs will be displayed within the Westport Credit Union 2017 Calendar.
