This new regulation seeks to strengthen and unify data protection for all individuals within the European Union and grants new and enhanced rights for individuals in relation to their personal data.

GDPR increases and reinforces the rights of individuals in relation to the data we hold about you. Being transparent and providing accessible information to member’s about how we process your personal data is a key element of the new regulation.

Westport Credit Union takes privacy and the protection of member, volunteer and staff data very seriously. We have always attached the highest priority to the security of our members’ assets and information and will continue to do so going forward. Our credit union has been actively working to implement the changes required to be ready for this new regulation.

We have developed a detailed Privacy Notice which will provide you with all the information you require about how we use your data. In addition we have also produced a series of shorter version Privacy Notices which outline a summary of how we use your data during the various stages of your relationship with our credit union from becoming a new member to taking out a loan with us.

Both the detailed and summary Privacy Notices can be requested by either calling into any of our offices, logging on to our website at www.westportcu.ie or emailing our Data Protection Officer at DPO@westportcu.ie
